Welcome to the CraftyTart Blog !

Welcome to the CraftyTart blog!

We hope all CraftyTarts’ are having / have had a wonderful safe holiday period and have enjoyed the time relaxing and scrapbooking.

To start the CraftyTart blog off we would like to start with saying a BIG thank you to all of our loyal customers. We tremendously appreciate all of the support that you have given CraftyTart (Michael, Guy and I) in 2008 along with the support you have kindly given us again in 2009.
We have got quite a few exciting changes happening at CraftyTart in 2009. We are constantly working behind the scenes in being able to offer you more. But one of the changes is a very exciting and immediate one! . . . . . CraftyTart is after three new CraftyTart designers!

If you are someone how loves scrapbooking, a person who always inspires others, a person who can scrapbook using all types of non traditional materials, loves to chat on forums and is not shy to teach a class; then we would love to hear from you.

For further details on becoming a design team member please see below.

Until the next posting, happy scrapping,

Kate and Michael

Calling all CraftyTarts !
Beginning today, until Midnight on 28th February 2009 we are opening applications for the CraftyTart Design Team ! We are looking for 3 new designers to add to our team alongside our Hannah Blair. All requirements and details are listed below:

You can apply for the CraftyTart Design Team by submitting the following to designteam@craftytart.com before Midnight on the 28th Feb 2009. At this time unfortunately, we are unable to accept overseas applications .

All applicants will be contacted by 5th March 2009 informing them whether they have been successful or not in applying.

Applications must include the following 4 items:

  • 1 recent layout with a minimum of 2 photos
  • 1 recent layout using a number of embellishments enhancing the layout with lots of texture and dimension
  • 1 recent layout which has a minimalistic (not so busy) style
  • 1 layout or creation featuring ‘yourself’ and something about you

Please note: If you don't feel that the above requested items express your style of layouts, please feel free to apply anyway with your own unique work with a short note to explain just that ! We are looking more for variety of styles, than specifically the exact above and welcome all applications !

All pictures need to be clear and in a standard picture format (preferably .jpg, .tiff etc). All pictures must be large enough to be able to see detail and important features.
Please also include the following in your application:

1. Details of yourself including name, email address, and full contact information.
2. Details of any other design teams you are currently on.
3. Details of all current communities, blogs, message boards that you are active in.
4. Why you think you would make a great design team member ?
5. What you feel your best attribute/skill as a scrapbooker is ?
6. Any other interesting information you feel you want us to know !

The CraftyTart design team role will be varied and requires participation in a number of areas from creating layouts, chatting and moderating on the CraftyTart Forum, setting challenges, reviewing products and potentially lots more.

We are looking for people who want to pro-actively encourage the scrapbooking community through their own experiences and who love to do so. Needless to say the role will take a reasonable time commitment and applicants should be very keen to become involved as much as possible.
If chosen as a CraftyTart Design Team member you will be responsible for the following:

1. Creating unique and innovative scrapbook layouts, cards and alternative projects using products from our store (These products will be sent to you every month). Each month you will receive a CraftyTart designer kit with numerous items to create with. Each kit should be able to make at least 2-3 layouts and another innovative small project the designer can think of. Certain products may be re-usable over a period of more than one month (i.e. tools, paints, inks).

2. All Design Team project work must include photos, a materials list, step by step instructions and a small review of at least one of the products used. Additional photos of specific techniques used for project work may also be supplied.

3. All Design Team members are required to be registered on the CraftyTart forum and post as much as possible on a regular basis (preferably daily). Starting, answering and moderating on forum threads are all required as well as commenting on work in the CraftyTart gallery.

4. Design team members will be responsible for helping to create, host and participate in forum challenges, classes and other events on a rotation basis. Initially the challenges and other events will be held every 2 months (subject to change but will be discussed). Any other events that require participation will be discussed and agreed in advance with Design Team members.

5. Design Team members are required to promote CraftyTart and encourage new members wherever possible. A CraftyTart icon/blinkie will be developed for Design Team members to display on their signatures, personal blog sites and other related sites. Showcasing and promoting items for CraftyTart on their personal blogs is greatly encouraged.

6. The CraftyTart Design Team is a 6 month commitment starting on or around 7th March 2009. All Design Team roles will be discussed and reviewed on an individual basis after 6 months.

All Design Team members will be asked to review and sign a contract stating such simple terms as above. This is merely to formalise what is expected of the Design Team member.

As an additional bonus, all CraftyTart Design Team members will be eligible to receive further incentives for CraftyTart.com. In addition to this, further financial rewards may also be offered for participation in events outside of standard Design Team duties. This will be outlined in more detail when design team members have been chosen.

We wish you all good luck in applying and are greatly looking forward to receiving applications and deciding on the extended CraftyTart Design team !

Many thanks and Good Luck !
